Affective Canines helps people when their dogs have behavior problems.

But instead of selling expensive dog training packages, we created a new coverage system called Canine Coverage. It's like insurance for your dog's behavior problems: you pay a small monthly amount and get training completely covered if your dog ever develops a mild or serious issue. You also get ongoing virtual support and perks with your membership.

For the most complex or aggressive behavior cases, we also offer a Founder-Led Behavior Rehabilitation Program for dogs who have not been able to find help elsewhere. This program is extremely limited, and dogs are only accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Our goal is to help dogs and their families have an affordable alternative to expensive dog training. And to help solve the most difficult behavior cases that often have nowhere else to turn.

Canine Coverage: $49 per month This is your basic coverage plan and continues month to month. No pre-existing behavior issues are protected under this plan, only future ones.

Behavior Buy-In: $399 one-time + $49/month For dogs with an existing behavior issue, you can file a claim after 90 days. After the 90-day waiting period, this leads into the same Canine Coverage plan.

Fast-Track Coverage: $1,199 one-time + $49/month For dogs that need help right away. This skips the 90-day waiting period and also leads into the same Canine Coverage plan.

Founder-Led Behavior Rehab: $6,500 For the most complex, challenging, or aggressive cases. This program is application only. Not all dogs are accepted.

We’re based in Richmond, Virginia and work with dogs throughout the Richmond area and nearby areas. We work with dogs dealing with behavior challenges such as aggression, reactivity, anxiety, fear-based behavior, and other emotionally driven issues, as well as owners who want ongoing behavior support and guidance.

We don’t offer traditional dog training services like one-off lessons, group classes, or board-and-train programs. Instead, we focus on behavior coverage and rehabilitation.

Our primary service is Canine Coverage™, a monthly dog behavior coverage model that provides covered support when behavior issues arise. This is designed for dogs with mild to serious behavior challenges, as well as owners who want long-term guidance and peace of mind rather than a fixed number of sessions.

For dogs with severe, high-risk, or complex behavior issues, we offer a Founder-Led Behavior Rehabilitation Program. This is a hands-on, in-person program with very limited availability and is accepted only on a case-by-case basis.

Our goal is to match dogs with the level of support they actually need, rather than selling you expensive, generic training packages with a fixed number of lessons.

Absolutely. We work with dogs displaying any and all forms of aggressive behavior, including fear-based aggression, reactivity, and other high-risk behavior issues. That said, not every aggressive dog is a good fit for every level of service.

Dogs with serious aggression may require our founder-led Intensive Behavior Rehabilitation Program, which is accepted on a case-by-case basis and limited by capacity.
