THE AFFECTIVE CANINES REHAB FUND

Help Give Struggling Dogs Another Chance.

Dogs with serious behavior problems are losing their homes and their lives, because the help they need is often out of reach.

You can help change that.

Give monthly starting at $10, or make a one-time gift.

"Too far gone?"

We don't think so.

The Problem

Dogs with serious behavior problems are running out of options.

They lose their homes. They spend years isolated from the world. They sit in shelters with nowhere to go. And far too often, they're euthanized before the right kind of help ever came.

The rehab these dogs need does exist, but it can be difficult to find, or too expensive. A dog owner's wallet shouldn't decide how their dog's story ends, and neither should that dog's behavior.

Together, we can give them a second chance.

Dogs are Dying
That
Don't Need To.

The Numbers

Every year, hundreds of thousands of dogs lose their homes, die in shelters, or
are euthanized because they don't get the help they need for their behavior problems.

3.1 Million

dogs entered shelters and rescues in 2025.

390,000

dogs a year are euthanized
(a large amount due to
behavior problems
).

1,068

dogs a day were euthanized in U.S. shelters in 2026.

Who We Are

We Built Affective Canines for the Most Difficult Dogs.

Affective Canines exists for dogs with serious behavior problems.

The dogs families don’t know how to help. The dogs shelters struggle to place. And too often, the dogs running out of options entirely.

After years as Military Working Dog handlers, we started rehabilitating dogs because we believed they deserved more than a life of management, isolation, or being euthanized because of their behavior.

We believed they deserved the chance to actually get better.

Proof of What's Possible

Their Worst Behavior
Wasn’t Their Future.

We've seen what can happen when difficult dogs are given the right help, enough time, and someone willing to help them.

See our real rehab cases and watch what can happen when dogs are finally given the help they deserve.

Extreme Anxiety

Maya: Extremely Anxious Rescue Dog

Severe Human Aggression

Prince: Severely Aggressive Shelter Dog

Resource Guarding | Aggression

Tanner: Cockapoo Resource Guarding

This is the work your support helps
us bring to more dogs.

Every Dog Has a Story

This Is Prince.
He Won’t Be the Last.

Prince got his second chance, but there are thousands more, just like him,
whose families are still searching for another option.

We're building Affective Canines to be there for them when they need it most.

Featured Case Study: Prince

BEFORE: Severely Aggressive Shelter Dog

AFTER: Playful and No More Aggression

"Prince would've been euthanized if not for
Affective Canines."

Prince was found at the shelter, tied to a fire hydrant overnight, in 30-degree weather. By the time we were called in, he was biting everyone.

What you’re seeing here isn’t us managing the issue; it’s real behavior change. He went from severely aggressive to happy, playful, and genuinely enjoys being around people, even the same people he was biting before.

Prince was one bite away from being put down.

Dogs like him aren’t too far gone, and yours isn’t either.

Prince got a second chance.
We want more dogs to have one.
